year in pictures (open picasa slideshow with captions;)
Two and a half years is quite a while, but since my friend Martin, of whom you have heard here since the beginning of this blog, has moved to this beautiful city, here are my pictures from the time:
First of all, I should thank to Jan, who is no longer a couch surfer, but I hope he is out there making his dream of being a successful cartoon artist come true. Jan, you were a true inspiration, even if you may not know it. You have given me the time and space to explore the city, calm down and photograph it well.
Why was I in Gent in the first place? It was the second stop of my solo tour (my first and only complete) of Europe with Pearl Jam, heading to such unlikely places as Lille, Brugge, Gent, Bruxelles, Rotterdam, Berlin, Manchester and London all in one go. It was my most exhausting journey so far, spanning over thousands of kilometres in two weeks, using my feet, train, bus and plane.
